I love a good multi-tasking product and I have some favorites I would like to share with you all. Starting with skin, I love the Rodan+Fields Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. This multi-tasker is great for exfoliating and brightening up the face but, … Continue reading
As the year winds down, I thought it would be a good idea to review this wonderful year. It’s been amazing to my family and I! 1. I finally went to working for myself! This was a big scary step … Continue reading
I have been away for such a long time!
A lot has changed since I last blogged. I recently took a leap and decided to be at home all the time and run my makeup business from home. I have at least always worked part time so, this is a big transition for me and my family. It will give me lots of material to write about.
The reason I am writing today is because I have taken a break from putting makeup on myself and styling my own hair for over a week. It’s been an interesting and liberating journey that I thought you all might want to try.
The first few days without makeup were hard. After so many years of wearing it you start to believe “the lie” which is what you look like with makeup on. So, I had to start accepting what I look like without it. Then I started to get used to it and see perfection over imperfection. It has allowed my skin to breathe and detox. I have had some breakout I am sure it is just part of the detox. Other than that, I have saved a ton of product. That is a bonus since my budget has completely changed.
My hair has been the most interesting. I haven’t styled it for probably a week and half or even longer. I have just washed it and let it air dry. Now in this time it has become less frizzy, thicker, and softer. I am totally not kidding! I will not be blow drying my hair again for a really long time!
If you have the time to do this I recommend taking a break from makeup and heat styling your hair. It will be really good for your skin and hair and good for your self esteem.
About four weeks ago I started a new skincare routine with ZenMed products. ZenMed is like my holistic doc meets scientist! I have used their supplements for awhile now and thought it was time to change up my skincare. You can see my past routine in earlier posts.
ZenMed recommended a line of products for my skin that target aging, acne, and dryness. I know this seems like a strange combo but, if you are in your thirties you are probably experiencing similar issues.
- Cleanse with Sensitive Facial Cleansing Gel. The botanical blend in this product smells amazing and doesn’t strip my skin. There are so many botanicals it would take forever to list them all but, here are a few: Sage, Yarrow, Balm Mint, Chamomile, Cucumber, etc.
- AHA/BHA Complex pH 3.5. This product is used to restore pH balance after cleansing and unblock pores. I also find this is making my skin look brighter and more youthful giving it a fantastic glow. This product is alcohol free!
- Oil Free Day Lotion. This product is for sensitive and troubled skin! Yes people these products do exist!! It doesn’t feel heavy under my makeup and makes my skin feel comfortable. It contains vitamins A, B5, and E!
1. Cleanse same as you would daytime.
2. Restore pH balance as you would for daytime.
3. About 2-3 times a week do this step: Renewing Serum pH 3.5. This product helps to remove dead skin to help bring out a healthy glow. Cellular turnover is key when using anti-aging products! Leave it on 5-10 minutes and then rinse off.
4. You can use your Oil-Free Day Lotion or I use a little organic argon oil to help heal and protect my skin over night.
That’s it!! That’s all I have been doing and my skin is completely clear!!
I have spent years with acne around my chin and now it’s gone folks!! These products are no joke and don’t cost millions of dollars. ZenMed has a customer for life!!
I just wanted to give a quick product shout out to Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. It is the concealer of my dreams! IT TOOK A FEW YEARS OFF MY EYES! Not kidding! It brightens, gives great coverage, and stays put all day. It is now a permanent staple in my beauty bag.
You cam find it anywhere Tarte is sold like, Ulta, Sephora,
Tarte, and QVC.
Sorry I haven’t wrote anything in a while! I have been super busy with wedding makeup season kicking in!
I first want to just let you know I am doing ok on my fitness challenge to myself. I will be honest it’s been hard. My kids just had their birthdays and it’s hard to eat healthy with all that yummy food around!! If I would have planned better I would have made it and made them into healthier versions of themselves. But, that didn’t happen because this time I was not organized and did everything last minute. I will be sure and not do that next time. Anyway, this week I am getting back on track and on top of my game! Please cheer me on it really helps!
I also wanted to take a minute and mention a few beauty finds I am loving at the moment. I recently bought some Nars products and I am obsessed! The Pro-Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep as a foundation primer is amaze! This makes my makeup go on so smooth and last all day. I also recently purchased Nars Laguna bronzer. I know that everyone probably uses this already but, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and bought one. Turns out there is a reason it’s so popular, it’s awesome! Love that it’s not too orange or shiny. Just perfect. Onto some Bobbi Brown, I just ordered the Creamy Concealer kit to use under my eyes. It has a creamy concealer and a yellow based setting powder. I love this too! The powder is so light in texture that it doesn’t look cakey just sets perfectly while brightening at the same time. I also have always wanted to try Josie Maran’s Argan Oil. I bought the bronzing one because it’s summer and I love the bronze look. I love wearing this under my makeup for a subtle glow and on my arms and legs for some color. It’s really pretty and it’s benefiting my skin at the same time. Gotta love multi-purpose products!

This past Sunday I went to our local mall to stock up on Lush products since they were in town and set up to sell this weekend. Unfortunately, we don’t have a store or counter in Omaha, NE. It’s nice that the Kansas City store does this twice a year!
I grabbed products that you can’t order online like the masks. They have to be kept cold. I picked up the Catastrophe and Cupcake masks. My husband and I both love them! It’s our pamper me product for Sunday evenings. Catastrophe is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to reduce inflammation to help repair damaged skin. Cupcake smells yummy and fights breakouts, soothes and deep cleans the skin. These two you can even use back to back for the ultimate pamper me day.
My kids have a favorite soap called Honey I Washed the Kids and Lush has it in a gel version now that’s called It’s Raining Men! Funny name but, we love the smell so much we had to have it. We also had to get the fun bath bombs and melts.
Some other products that I still have that I love are the Coal Face soap and the enzyme facial moisturizer my husband loves. It helps calm razor burn.

I would love to hear what you like to do for your Sunday Fundays!
